Cars in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers reported they were contacted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Around 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then discovered many other marked cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.

An important official stated the vandalism made him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right attack five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a assailant aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
